Yellow ball / Gul kúlan
Let’s have fun, get crafty and make a yellow ball, the official symbol of Reykjavík Knitting Festival 2021!
What: The idea is that everyone makes one or more bright yellow balls. The size, technique used or texture depend on how you intend to use it.
Why: First and foremost, to have fun and to make it easy for us to spot others who are also participating in the event.
How: The ball can be knitted, crocheted, felted, it can be a pompom or any other crafted ball. You decide which technique ad method you use, whether you make it up or follow a pattern. There are many possibilities and patterns out there. You will find useful tips and our own patterns on our website in the following weeks: follow us on Facebook and Instagram. Use your imagination and make balls that can be attached to your knitting bag or a keychain, worn as earrings or necklace, style your hair, hang from your scarf or shawl or whatever comes to your mind. Be creative and have fun!
When: Once the balls are ready, you can share them on the Reykjavík Knitting Festival Instagram and / or Facebook page. Style them and show how and where the ball will be or hang. Prizes available to the most imaginative!

Hvað: Hugmyndin er að allir geri sér eina eða fleiri kúlur í björtum gulum lit. Stærðin, aðferðin og fjöldinn ræðst af því hvernig þið ætlið að nota hana.
Hvers vegna: Fyrst og fremst til að hafa gaman og til að gera okkur auðvelt að koma auga á aðra sem eru líka að taka þátt í viðburðinum.
Hvernig: Kúluna er hægt að prjóna, hekla, þæfa eða gera dúsk. Þið ráðið hvaða aðferð þið notið, upp úr ykkur eða eftir uppskrift. Það eru til margar útfærslur og uppskriftir. Það stendur til að birta okkar eigin uppskriftir fyrir prjónaðar og heklaðar kúlur sem þið getið notað. Fylgist með á Facebook og Instagram. Notið hugmyndaflugið og gerið kúlur sem geta hangið á prjónatöskunni, verið eyrnalokkar, endi á lyklakippu, á hálsfesti, hárskraut, á trefil eða sjal eða hvað sem ykkur dettur í hug.
Hvenær: Um leið og kúlurnar eru tilbúnar getið þið deilt þeim á Instagram og/eða Facebook síðu Reykjavík Knitting Festival. Látið sjást hvernig og hvar kúlan á að vera eða hanga. Verðlaun í boði fyrir þá hugmyndaríkustu.
