This class is all about the fun called stripes! How to add stripes to your knitting, how to best work them and how to make stripes extra special with easy techniques.
This workshop also focuses on color in knitting: what to expect from certain colors, which colors to pair and what to choose to begin with. Inspire your imagination and choose colors with confidence.
We’ll also discuss how to use simple stitch patterns like slipped stitches to enhance your stripes, making them just as impressive as stranded or fair isle knitting.
You‘ll learn how to best:
Knit jogless stripes in the round
Work stripes with short rows
Keep the edges neat with two or more colors
Use simple stitch patterns to spice up your stripes
Time: Saturday 14:30-17:30, 25th April 2020

Place: Near Iðnó in downtown Reykjavík. Participants will get an email with details in time before class starts.

Supplies to bring: Bring a small selection of colors in sport or DK weight yarn (small leftover skeins are perfect) and circular needles or double pointed needles to go with your yarns.

Veera Välimäki
Veera Välimäki lives and designs in a very small village in Southern Finland. Her designs focus on simple and clean lines with small fresh details. She loves simple yet modern knits that are both easy to knit and easy to wear – year after year. Shawls and sweaters are Veera’s two favorite things to knit. Veera is truly a master of casting on for new sweaters, but one can never have too many of them, right?! Veera adores garter stitch and all kinds of short rows. Her two books are published in Finland, but majority of Veera’s work is self-published. Interpretations book series together with Joji Locatelli has now reached to the 6th volume and the books are published in print by Pom Pom Press. Veera’s work has also been featured in magazines and books in Finland, Europe and in the US.
