Tajarutit -Traditional hand warmers in musk ox wool from Greeland with Nini Frydkjær Brandt

In this workshop you will learn to knit hand warmers with beads from Greenland in traditional motifs. Tararutit is a part of our national costume from Greenland and there will be short introduction of the crafts used to make the costume.
På denne workshop vil der være mulighed for at lære at strikke med grønlandske perler i vores traditionelle mønstre. Tararutit er en del af den grønlandske nationaldragt og der vil være en kort gennemgang af dragtens håndværk.
Time: Saturday 14:30 -17:30, 25 April 2020

Place: Near Iðnó in downtown Reykjavík. Participants will get an email with details in time before class starts.
Skill Level: You need to be confortable with cast on and knit stitch. Man skulle kunne slå masker op samt strikke ret
Homework Before Class: None.
Supplies to bring: Bring double pointed needles in 2-3mm. Medbring strømpepinde gerne i str. 2-3.
Materials Fee: You will be able to buy a kit containing 25 grams of musk ox wool and colored beads from Nini for 250 DKK (around 4.750 ISK). If you don‘t wan‘t to use musk ox wool please bring cotton or other yarn suitable for needles 2-3mm.
25 grams moskusuld med perler kan købes for 250 DKK fra Nini. f Et lille hæfte bliver udleveret til at tage med hjem. Hvis man ikke ønsker at strikke i moskusuld er man velkomme til at tage bomuldsgarn (eller andet) med til pindstr. 2-3.Price: 19.900 ISK
