Ýr Jóhannsdóttir, Ýrúrarí: What is a sweater?

In this lecture knit designer and artist Ýr Jóhannsdóttir, or Ýrúrarí, introduces her projects and knitting process. Since 2012 Ýr has worked with the sweater form and repeatedly tried to move away from it but has now come to accept it and will introduce the sweater in historical context and explain what the sweater is to her. To add to the traditional put also entertaining powerpoint show Ýr will also bring some samples of her work so guests can take a look at the techniques themselves and possibly find inspiration for their future knitting projects.
