Védís Jónsdóttir: Designer in the World of Wool

Védís Jónsdóttir graduated as a fashion designer from The Danish Design School. She worked as a knitwear designer for various companies in Iceland, before becoming Head Designer at Ístex. Védís has revitalized Icelandic Lopi knitting with new shapes and intricated color combinations. Her designs and patterns are widely known but few know the person behind them.

In the lecture “Designer in the world of wool” Védís will talk about her inspirations, design process for new yarn colors, the poetry of patterns, 3-D thinking and finally her sculptural knitting.
